Head of the Union of Arab Pediatricians Appreciates Kingdom Efforts
25 February 2007
Dr. Salah Ahmed Ibrahim, Head of the Union of Arab Pediatricians and Head of the Sudanese Society of Pediatricians, said the convening of the Arabic Child Conference under the patronage of the Arab League and participation of the Arab Ministers of Health, reflects coincidence of both political and professional wills to provide support to the programs and strategies seeking to promote childhood health in the Arab world and encourage  exchange of experience among Arab countries in the field of childhood health.

He said the planning for the conference has been based on the target that the conference must be different from other conferences and must concentrate on the policies adopted in the different Arabic countries regarding childhood health. Care has been taken that the conference agendas must be compatible with the developmental objectives of the third millennium, the Second Childhood Arabic Work Plan for the period 2004-2015, and relative regional and international trends.

Dr. Salah extended his gratitude to the Saudi government for hosting the conference, which will be opened by prince Talal bin Abdul Aziz, hoping the conference recommendations shall contribute to the efforts for promoting Arabic awareness towards childhood problems.
