Minister of Health Launches Health Mobile
18 February 2007
The Ministry of Health launched the Health Mobile Service. Including five channels, the new service price was set at 8 Halalas per day (SR2.40 per month) per channel instead of SR12.00, which is the usual price known for such services.

The Minister of Health Dr. Hamad Al-Mane said the service shall send awareness messages to all sectors of the society. The service aims at elevating public awareness and boosting behavior patterns through concentrating on disease prevention and utilization of modern technologies. The service also aims at disseminating news and reports on the activities and programs of the Ministry of Health.

The STC president Eng. Saud Al-Duwaish said the new service is a pioneering step resulting from the fruitful cooperation between STC and the Ministry of Health. STC has offered a donation of establishing 28 health centers through the Health Faith Program (HFP).

He said the first HFP health center shall be opened within the coming five months, whereas the other centers shall follow successively. "We launched a similar program, the Technical Faith program, with the General Organization of Training and Technical Education, but the health mobile is the first public service mobile carried out by STC ", he said. " It will serve as an efficient means for carrying MOH services to both the citizens and residents".

Dr. Khalid Al-Marghalani, the General Supervisor of Information and Health Education, clarified the importance of health education in attaining the optimum level of health services. He said the new project is an important step towards realizing the best health services.
