World Cancer Day
Each year on 4 February, the world celebrates the World Cancer Day with an aim to unify people around the world to fight this deadly disease. The world cancer day aims at saving the lives of millions of people who die yearly, through increasing awareness among individuals and governments on this disease, so that the needed procedures can be taken.
 
Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide, accounting for 7.6 million deaths yearly, 4 millions of whom are aged between 30-69 years.
 
Statistics issued by the Saudi Ministry of Health (MOH) reveal that 13,254 Saudi citizens were suffering from cancer till 2009.

Locally Approved Date: 4/4/1435H
 
World Cancer Day is a chance to raise our collective voices in the name of improving general knowledge around cancer and dismissing misconceptions about the disease. This might cause a positive change in the policies of individuals, society and specialized agencies with regard to the cancer care.
