Facts:
- Skin cancers are mainly caused by exposure to ultraviolet radiation from sunlight or artificial sources such as sun beds.
- More than 1.5 million cases of skin cancer were diagnosed globally in 2020 and more than 120,000 deaths from skin cancer were reported.
- Excessive exposure of children and adolescents to sunlight helps spread skin cancer in later stages of their lives.
