The Obesity Control Program was introduced as per a resolution by the MOH Executive Council No. 68,201 dated 14/2/1435H (corresponding to 17/12/2013). It is one of the programs supervised by the Genetic and Chronic Diseases Control General Department affiliated to the Assistant Agency for Primary Healthcare, an offshoot of the MOH's Agency for Public Health. The program is based on a clear vision and mission aimed at promoting health of all age groups in Saudi Arabia through putting an end to obesity, as well as providing the highest means of protection, and offering integrated healthcare services to people suffering from any of the three levels of obesity.
