Health Minister Honors 4 Military Cities with Healthy City Accreditation

Minister of Health H.E. Fahad Abdulrahman AlJalajel today presented H.E. Dr. Khalid bin Hussein AlBayari, Assistant Minister of Defense for Executive Affairs, along with officials and representatives of four military cities, with certificates recognizing them as Healthy Cities after meeting the criteria of the Ministry of Health's Healthy Cities Program. The recognition reflects integrated efforts and the adoption of the “Health in All Policies" approach, contributing to sustainable healthy environments, strengthening prevention, and placing health among the priorities of development projects and services, thereby enhancing quality of life in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The accreditation included King Abdulaziz Military City in the Northwestern Region, King Fahd Military City in the Eastern Region, King Fahd Air Base in the Western Sector, and King Khalid Military City in the Northern Region. The cities received the recognition after meeting 80 criteria across nine key areas, including health development, food safety, environmental and air quality, capacity building, emergency preparedness and response, community engagement, and health initiatives.

This recognition is an extension of the efforts of the Ministry of Health's Healthy Cities Program​ and the result of integrated efforts and partnerships with various government and private entities and civil society organizations. These efforts contribute to promoting population health, improving quality of life, and building a vibrant society.
