Minister of Health, H.E. Fahad Abdulrahman AlJalajel, honored a group of Saudi healthcare professionals who received the 2025 Arab Awards for Medicine and Nursing, in recognition of their professional and scientific contributions and the achievements that reflect the excellence of Saudi healthcare talent and their ability to compete and lead at the regional and international levels.
H.E. stated: “We are proud of the remarkable achievements of our national healthcare professionals, which reflect the capabilities and excellence of the sons and daughters of this nation across various specialties. These accomplishments demonstrate the strong support that the healthcare sector and its workforce receive from the Kingdom’s wise leadership, may God preserve them, as well as the exceptional opportunities for empowerment, innovation, and achievement made possible through
Saudi Vision 2030.”
In the field of medicine, H.E. honored Professor Zuhair Al-Halees, Senior Consultant of Cardiac Surgery at King Faisal Specialist Hospital, recipient of the Excellence, Leadership, and Professional Impact Award, and Professor Ahmed Bahammam,
Director of the Prince Naif Center for Health Research, recipient of the 2025 Arab Physician Award in the Scientific Research and Innovation category.
In the field of nursing and midwifery, H.E. honored Dr. Badriyah Al-Shahri, recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award in Nursing and Midwifery for the “Natatathon” project, which focuses on advancing nursing education and training.
H.E. also honored the Saudi team comprising Dr. Manal Banaser, Jawhara Al-Harbi, Reem Al-Humaidan, Eman Al-Shammari, and Abdulrahman Abu Khudhaa, after they won first place in the Clinical Team Practice category for their project titled “Capacity Building Model for Critical Care Units During Disasters.”
These achievements reflect the advanced level attained by Saudi healthcare professionals in clinical practice, scientific research, and innovation. They also demonstrate the impact of national talent development programs and the enabling environment that fosters excellence, further strengthening the competitiveness of Saudi Arabia’s healthcare sector at both the regional and international levels.
The awards were presented during the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Council of Arab Health Ministers, in recognition of distinguished Arab healthcare professionals and their contributions to advancing medical and nursing practices, as well as promoting scientific research and innovation in the healthcare sector.
