The Ministry of Health (MoH) announced the launch of the “Ensuring the Reliability of Expatriate Workers’ Medical Examinations” campaign as part of its efforts to enhance the quality of healthcare services, ensure the accuracy of medical examination results for expatriate workers, strengthen compliance with Saudi health regulations, and protect public health. The campaign aligns with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program under Saudi Vision 2030 to build an advanced healthcare system that meets the highest international standards of quality and regulatory oversight while enhancing the reliability of healthcare services.
The campaign aims to verify the accuracy and reliability of medical examination results for expatriate workers, ensure healthcare facilities comply with approved examination protocols and procedures, confirm the use of calibrated and certified laboratory equipment with regular maintenance, verify the competency and qualifications of technical personnel conducting the examinations, and prevent any practices that could compromise the integrity of test results or lead to manipulation.
The campaign also focuses on ensuring compliance with electronic connectivity and reporting through approved systems, strengthening oversight of expatriate worker medical examination centers to enhance the reliability of test results and prevent violations, while contributing to protecting the community from communicable diseases and safeguarding public health. The campaign is part of the Ministry’s regulatory oversight of private healthcare institutions that provide medical examination services for expatriate workers, in accordance with the Private Health Institutions Law and its Executive Regulations.
The Ministry stated that violations may result in penalties stipulated by the law, including fines of up to SAR 100,000, closure of the healthcare facility for up to 60 days, and revocation of its license. It reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining rigorous regulatory oversight to ensure healthcare facilities comply with approved professional and regulatory standards, thereby enhancing healthcare quality and protecting public health.
