The health system has deployed smart technologies to serve pilgrims through the “Weqaya Robot,” which provides health guidance and awareness in more than 97 languages. The initiative aims to deliver health messages to pilgrims from diverse nationalities and cultures during the 1447H Hajj season as part of innovation efforts to enhance healthcare quality, in line with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program and the Pilgrim Experience Program under
Saudi Vision 2030.The Weqaya Robot delivers health awareness and guidance around the clock, offering information on preventing heat exhaustion and injuries, maintaining public health while performing Hajj rituals, and promoting healthy practices. The robots have been deployed at key locations, including the courtyards of the Prophet’s Mosque and Quba Mosque in Madinah, the train station in Makkah, and the Pilgrims Hall at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.
The deployment of the Weqaya Robot and other smart technologies to educate millions of pilgrims reflects Saudi Arabia’s advanced capabilities in managing healthcare during mass gatherings.
