An umbrella is one of the most important preventive measures for protecting pilgrims during the Hajj season, especially amid high temperatures and frequent movement between the holy sites. It helps reduce direct exposure to sunlight while performing Hajj rituals.
The Ministry of Health explained that using an umbrella is one of the simplest and most effective preventive practices, helping reduce the risk of heat exhaustion, heatstroke, and dehydration, which are among the main health challenges during Hajj.
The Ministry added that the benefits of an umbrella extend beyond providing shade. It can reduce the surrounding temperature experienced by pilgrims by up to 10°C, helping minimize physical strain and improve pilgrims’ ability to perform their rituals comfortably.
The Ministry emphasized that prevention begins with simple daily habits and urged pilgrims to follow health guidance and use preventive measures that help them perform their rituals safely while enhancing their overall health experience during Hajj.
