The Mobile Stroke Unit has played a vital role in delivering rapid, life-saving care in the Central Area of the Grand Mosque, which is currently witnessing a high density of pilgrims. As part of the Urgent Care Pathway—one of the Saudi Model of Care pathways—the unit has enhanced the quality of healthcare services provided to pilgrims while improving timely access to emergency care.
Makkah Health Cluster stated that a specialized Saudi medical team at Al Haram Emergency Hospital successfully used the Mobile Stroke Unit to provide immediate care for a pilgrim after transferring the patient to the unit stationed at the hospital. Medical examinations and a CT scan confirmed the diagnosis of an acute stroke.
By the grace of God and the team’s rapid response, the medical team promptly delivered the necessary treatment, stabilizing the patient’s condition within the “golden hour” for life-saving stroke care and in accordance with international clinical guidelines.
This achievement reflects the competence of Saudi healthcare professionals and the readiness of healthcare facilities to manage critical cases, enabling rapid intervention to save lives and reduce complications associated with stroke.
