As part of ongoing regulatory efforts, the Ministry of Health (MoH), in collaboration with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), has launched a joint inspection campaign targeting the sale of medicines in stores offering discounted personal care products. The initiative aims to strengthen pharmaceutical market oversight and safeguard public health.
The campaign focuses on preventing the sale and distribution of medicines through unlicensed establishments, in accordance with Article (16) of the Law of Pharmaceutical Establishments and Pharmaceutical Products.
It also seeks to curb the unauthorized promotion and sale of medicines, ensure that pharmaceutical products are distributed exclusively through licensed channels, enhance compliance with relevant laws and regulations, protect citizens and residents from the risks associated with medicines of unknown origin, and reinforce regulatory cooperation among the relevant authorities.
The campaign reflects the continued collaboration between the Ministry of Health and the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) to strengthen regulatory oversight, improve compliance with health regulations, ensure the safe distribution of medicines, and protect beneficiaries.
