His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Hail Region, patronized today the ceremony marking Hail’s designation as a World Health Organization (WHO) Healthy City, held at Al Maghwah Celebration Center. The event was attended by Minister of Health H.E. Fahad Abdulrahman AlJalajel, Acting Deputy Governor of Hail Region Ali bin Salem Al Amer, and several officials.
During the ceremony, attendees reviewed the region’s efforts to achieve the objectives of the Healthy Cities Program, along with initiatives and programs that have enhanced public health indicators and quality of life in support of
Saudi Vision 2030.
A visual presentation highlighted Hail’s journey toward accreditation, showcasing the region’s achievements in public health, healthy lifestyle promotion, and the development of health-supportive urban environments.
Chairman of the Founding Council of the Northern Health Sector, Eng. Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al Rukhais, delivered a speech emphasizing that human health is the foundation of comprehensive development and a key driver of quality of life. He expressed appreciation for the leadership’s continued support and thanked the Governor of Hail Region and all participating entities for their contributions.
Minister of Health H.E. Fahad Abdulrahman AlJalajel highlighted the leadership’s continued support for the health sector and congratulated the Governor of Hail Region and its residents on the achievement. He noted that Hail’s designation as a Healthy City reflects the Kingdom’s progress in health indicators through the Healthy Cities Program and cross-sector collaboration under the Health in All Policies approach. He also stated that the number of Healthy Cities in Saudi Arabia has increased to 17, supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 toward a vibrant society with prosperous health.
HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad affirmed that the accreditation reflects the leadership’s support for the health sector and demonstrates the successful collaboration among government entities to improve quality of life and promote sustainable healthy environments.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, HRH Prince Abdulaziz received the WHO Healthy City accreditation certificate for Hail. The event also included honoring the Emirate of Hail Region and government, private, and non-profit partners in recognition of their contributions to this achievement, followed by a commemorative group photo with representatives of the participating entities.
