The Ministry of Health (MoH), in collaboration with the relevant authorities, has apprehended a resident for unlawfully practicing a health profession without a license and promoting the sale of a medically controlled drug that was not authorized for sale and is used for medically supervised abortion cases. The action comes as part of MoH’s ongoing regulatory efforts to protect beneficiaries and ensure compliance with the Kingdom’s approved health regulations.
MoH confirmed that legal action was taken against the violator in Riyadh Region, resulting in a court sentence of six months’ imprisonment and a fine of SAR 100,000, in accordance with the Law of Practicing Healthcare Professions and its Executive Regulations.
The Ministry continues its regulatory efforts to detect illegal healthcare practices and strengthen compliance with approved health regulations across the Kingdom. It also urged the public to report any healthcare violations through the Unified Contact Center (937), contributing to the protection of public health and the safety of healthcare services.
