National Annual Blood Donation Campaign Wins Makkah Excellence Award


The National Annual Blood Donation Campaign, launched by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, won the Makkah Excellence Award​ in the Human Excellence category. The Ministry of Health received the award during the closing ceremony in recognition of the campaign’s significant community impact in promoting voluntary blood donation and helping save lives.
The campaign is a national initiative with broad social impact that aims to raise awareness of the importance of voluntary blood donation and achieve self-sufficiency in blood and blood components. It seeks to ensure a safe and sustainable blood supply, support national healthcare efforts, and increase voluntary blood donation to 100% of all donors, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to build a vibrant society with a sustainable healthy lifestyle.
The Makkah Excellence Award is one of the Kingdom’s leading national awards, recognizing outstanding achievements while promoting excellence, healthy competition, and innovation. It encourages government entities in the Makkah Region to improve performance, honors distinguished individuals and organizations, and supports their contribution to community development.
