World Thalassaemia Day commemorates those who have lost their lives to the disease, supports those living with it, and raises awareness about the condition and ways to manage it.

- More severe cases of thalassaemia require regular blood transfusions.
- The symptoms of thalassaemia, such as fatigue and tiredness, can be managed by following a healthy diet and engaging in regular physical activity.
