The Health Sector Transformation Program 2025 Annual Report highlighted remarkable achievements that reflect the growing impact of Saudi Arabia’s health transformation journey since the launch of Saudi Vision 2030, reaffirming continued progress toward building a more integrated and efficient healthcare system that places people’s health at the heart of its priorities.
The report revealed that life expectancy in the Kingdom has increased to 79.7 years, approaching the
Saudi Vision 2030 target of 80 years. This reflects significant improvements in public health indicators and the impact of coordinated national efforts in prevention, promoting healthy lifestyles, and advancing healthcare services. It also noted that 97.5% of population clusters across the Kingdom, including remote areas, are now covered by essential healthcare services, improving access to care for all members of society.
In digital health transformation, the healthcare sector continued to strengthen its position as a leading model of digital innovation. More than 31 million people have benefited from the Sehhaty app, while Seha Virtual Hospital expanded its services to reach over 365,000 beneficiaries through a network of 241 connected healthcare facilities, enabling access to specialized healthcare services across the Kingdom.
The report also highlighted continued investment in the national health workforce, with the number of healthcare practitioners in the Kingdom exceeding 803,000, alongside the graduation of more than 35,000 physicians from the Saudi Board programs, strengthening healthcare quality and enhancing the sector’s readiness to meet future needs.
In the area of prevention and public health, the Kingdom achieved its 2030 target ahead of schedule, with 92% readiness of health regions to respond to health risks. Coordinated efforts among government entities also contributed to a 60% reduction in road traffic fatalities since the launch of Vision 2030, while improving emergency response times to help save lives and reduce injuries.
The report emphasized that these achievements are the result of a comprehensive transformation that included restructuring the healthcare sector, establishing national entities to support transformation, and adopting a modern healthcare model focused on prevention, public health, and service efficiency. Governance and institutional integration have also strengthened decision-making, accountability, transparency, and coordination among relevant entities, ensuring the sustainability of health transformation and maximizing its contribution to quality of life while delivering more efficient and effective healthcare services aligned with
Saudi Vision 2030.
The 2025 Report further emphasized that the Kingdom’s health transformation journey is no longer measured solely by indicators and statistics, but by its tangible impact on people’s lives through better health, more accessible care, higher-quality services, and a healthcare system that is better prepared for the future.
