In a human, noble gesture, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has 345 Hajj performers, inpatients in the hospitals of the Holy Capital, the Holy Sites, and Madinah ascended to Arafat, in order to complete performing their Hajj rites as it does in each year's Hajj season.
Meanwhile, the number of those ascended from Makkah hospitals amounted to 240 patients; and from the Holy Sites' hospitals 79 patients.
This took place through 40 buses and 40 ambulances. In addition to this, 25 sick Hajj performers from Madinah were transported by 25 ambulances, and a patient from Jeddah by an ambulance.
Within the same vein, his Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah pointed out that the MOH, as usual, prepares each year a medical convoy comprising of a huge fleet of buses supported by physicians and nurses; in order to enable the Hajj performers to perform the Hajj rites, accompanied by fully fledged medical, therapeutic care.
They were provided with a host of ambulances equipped with the latest medical, therapeutic, medicinal, and nutritional equipment. They were also staffed by specialized physicians, along with a nurse for each patient.
Moreover, he noted that the required ambulances were provided in order to transport the Hajj performers from the King Fahad Hospital in Madinah, Makkah and Jeddah hospitals, and King Abdullah Medical City to the Holy Sites, in coordination with relevant bodies.
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Health (MOH), each year, prepares a medical convoy to have the inpatients ascended to the Holy Site of Arafat, as they are moved from the hospitals of the Holy Capital, Mina, Madinah, and Jeddah, accompanied by self-contained medical crew. On average, 350-500 Hajj performers are transported annually.
