Minister of Health Janadriyah Festival Is One of the Hallmarks of Intellectual and Cultural Cohesion
13 February 2012
His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, has described Janadriyah National Festival of Heritage and Culture as one of the hallmarks of intellectual and cultural cohesion; since it correlates the prosperous present with the glorious past, aside from being an eminent international cultural forum.

Dr. Al-Rabeeah was quoted as saying, “The significance of this festival lies in the fact that it receives gracious patronage from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. It is also attended by a constellation of princes, ministers and statesmen, in addition to Arab and foreign visitors. The festival includes a variety of various events and activities (social, cultural, traditional, artistic, literary, and so on), in participation of all the Kingdom's regions, as well as a number of ministries, governmental bodies and cultural and social institutions, among which the Ministry of Health (MOH) is first and foremost.” Meanwhile, he hoped that the Ministry's substantial involvement will bring about the sought-after success, which will undoubtedly add much to the success of the festival as a whole.

“The MOH's involvement in Janadriyah National Festival for Heritage and Culture,” Dr. Al-Rabeeah continued, “comes within the framework of the role and responsibility taken over by the Ministry on all national occasions, and proceeding from its keen interest to making success of this social and cultural phenomenon which embodies, in the first place, the Wise Leadership's care for the Saudi society and its values and traditions, as manifested in the generous support it has been providing for this festival since its first inauguration some twenty years ago, with a significant Arab and international participation.”

Dr. Al-Rabeeah affirmed, furthermore, that he has given his orders to all MOH health facilities to effectively participate in this festival (Janadriyah 27), with the aim to shed light on the momentous national achievements recently accomplished by the Ministry; in addition to raising people's health awareness by way of the accompanying clinics and health events.

His Excellency the Minister of Health went on to say that MOH has launched an awareness campaign in Janadriyah Festival, through the Ministry's Pavilion, under the theme: “How Is Your Health?” The campaign takes as its goal raising people's health awareness, especially the festival's visitors. It offers a wide range of awareness activities and events, in addition to circulating health educational leaflets and brochures, and measuring participants' vital signs (biomarkers).

In conclusion of his statement, His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, pointed out that the Ministry's involvement in this year's Janadriyah Festival reflects its vigorous developments and substantial quantum leap in all of its services and facilities, which are utterly harnessed to patients' health and well-being. In this spirit, the Ministry has enacted several health projects meant to serve patients and achieve the theme adopted by MOH: “Patient First”, thus fulfilling the Leadership's aspirations, and retaining patients' satisfaction at the preventive, curative and rehabilitative services provided by the Ministry.
