HRH Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal, Chairman of the Saudi Sports for All Federation and Founder & CEO of KBW Ventures, affirmed that Saudi Arabia has made remarkable progress in enhancing quality of life and promoting a culture of physical activity across all segments of society. He highlighted that investing in healthy and active lifestyles is a strategic investment that positively impacts individual well-being and the national economy in the long term.
Prince Khaled made these remarks during a panel discussion titled “The Impact of Sports on Quality of Life”, held as part of the Global Health Exhibition 2025 at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, under the patronage of the Ministry of Health and supported by the Health Sector Transformation Program, one of the key programs under Saudi Vision 2030.
He explained that the percentage of physically active individuals in the Kingdom increased from 13% in 2018 to nearly 60% in 2025, noting that the definition of “physical activity” includes children engaging in sports for at least 60 minutes daily, and adults exercising for around 180 minutes per week. Prince Khaled also noted that the Saudi Sports for All Federation has launched numerous community-based initiatives, most notably the Riyadh Marathon, which attracts more than 40,000 participants annually of various age groups.
He emphasized that these initiatives promote inclusivity, with participation from children, mothers, and seniors over the age of 80, adding that Saudi women’s participation in the marathon has grown significantly, from 3,500 participants in the early years to over 15,000 in the most recent edition.
It is noteworthy that the Global Health Exhibition 2025 received the AEO 2025 Award for Best International Exhibition in the Middle East and Africa, featuring participation from over 2,000 international entities, 500 speakers from 130 countries, and presenting more than 100 discussion sessions and 110 accredited Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours approved by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, held from October 27–30, 2025.
