Seha Virtual Hospital has conducted a groundbreaking clinical study through its Digital Clinical Research Center to verify the accuracy of the (iSelfie.ai) platform, an advanced AI-powered solution for the early detection of heart disease and related chronic conditions.
The study, approved by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) and the General Directorate of Research and Studies, involved over one thousand participants across multiple regions in Saudi Arabia.
In collaboration with leading national institutions — including the National Heart Center, King Faisal Heart Center at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Jeddah, the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, King Fahd Armed Forces Hospital, and King Fahd Medical City — the initiative highlights the Kingdom’s commitment to advancing medical research through innovation and partnership.
Developed by the Canadian company AiZtech, the (iSelfie.ai) platform uses artificial intelligence to analyze short facial “selfie” videos taken via smartphone to measure vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and respiratory rate within seconds.
Study results confirmed that the platform’s accuracy matches that of traditional medical devices, offering a fast, affordable, and non-invasive approach to early diagnosis. Previously, the technology had shown promising outcomes in the United States, Canada, and Brazil.
The Digital Clinical Research Center, launched during the Global Health Exhibition 2024, continues to lead five innovative digital studies covering AI, wearable devices, and telemedicine, all supporting the national drive to accelerate therapeutic development, empower healthcare professionals, and improve patient outcomes.
