The Ministry of Health has announced the availability of the seasonal influenza vaccine, which can now be booked through the “Sehhaty” application starting today. The vaccine has been prove to reduce the severity of infections, lower intensive care admissions, and decrease influenza-related mortality.
The ministry highlighted that groups most at risk of complications include: individuals with chronic diseases, those taking immunosuppressive medications, adults over the age of 50, children between six months and five years, pregnant women, individuals with severe obesity, and healthcare workers.
According to last year’s statistics, 96% of patients admitted to intensive care units had not received the vaccine, reaffirming its effectiveness in protection and prevention.
