The Ministry of Health has announced the availability of school fitness screening for newly enrolled first-grade students for the 2025/2026 academic year, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education. The initiative aims to ensure students’ health readiness for school, promote early detection, and strengthen preventive healthcare within schools.
Parents can book appointments electronically through the “Sehhaty” app, which allows them to select the most convenient time and healthcare center. The examination covers verification of school-age vaccinations, a review of the student’s medical history, BMI measurement, vision, hearing, speech, dental and oral checks, in addition to a full clinical assessment.
In 2024, over 1.7 million students benefited from school fitness screenings, while health awareness programs reached approximately 3.5 million students. Additional efforts include monitoring school environments and canteens to ensure food safety, training health supervisors, and raising parental awareness of children’s health needs.
This initiative comes as part of the Health Sector Transformation Program under Saudi Vision 2030, reinforcing preventive healthcare and contributing to improved quality of life for future generations.
