To promote Healthcare Transformation…MOH Calls for Participation in the Healthcare SANDBOX
20 August 2024

The Ministry of Health urged individuals and companies to participate in the “Regulatory Healthcare sandbox”, which aims to develop test cutting-edge digital health and Artificial Intelligence solutions. Aligned with the goals of Seha Virtual Hospital, the Sandbox provides a secure platform for innovators to experiment and refine their ideas, a move that marks a significant milestone in boosting investment and promoting digital health transformation. This comes as part of the ministry’s efforts to facilitate access to and development of healthcare services and achieve the objectives of the Healthcare Sector Transformation Program. These objectives are also aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to establish a comprehensive and efficient healthcare system.

The SANDBOX incubator environment seeks to reduce the risks of developing health solutions, stimulate innovation to provide new health solutions, and accelerate the process of improving solutions by providing specialized consultations in several fields, namely artificial intelligence, 3D printing, the Internet of Things, and biotechnology.
The Ministry of Health explained that the participations will go through several stages, starting with the initial acceptance, which will be within 10 working days, followed by the final acceptance within the same period, then the process of incubating the solutions within 5 days of the final acceptance, continuing from 3 to 6 in an environment that provides the necessary support to develop these innovative digital health solutions.
The Ministry confirmed that the deadline to receive applications for the Sandbox program is August 31, 2024, through this application link.
This initiative underscores the Ministry of Health efforts to support digital health innovations that facilitate access to healthcare services provided to citizens and residents and enhance their quality.
