10 October 2021

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced today (Sunday) that the nominations are now open for the 2021 Minster of Health Volunteer Awards in its 3rd edition, under the patronage of the Council of Health Insurance. The award targets the categories of individuals and organizations, represented by the health professionals, individual volunteering, health organizations, non-profit sector, private companies and establishments, and official volunteering teams across the Kingdom regions. The award aims at supporting and motivating volunteer works and highlighting fruitful efforts to improve health care services, as well as shedding light on the volunteer services that contribute to improving healthcare.

The award includes three branches: curative service, community health awareness, and education, support services in the health field, distributed over three main tracks: distinguished initiative, creative ideas, and the Minister of Health appreciation award, which is dedicated to pioneering health volunteering individuals and entities, who have played distinguished roles in the healthcare services in the Kingdom.

It is noteworthy that the award secretariat has adopted a number of professional standards based on a comparison between the international and local awards, most notably: methodology, evaluation, and improvement, creativity and innovation, the relevance of ideas, in addition to the motivational dimension.

The award comes as a continuation of MOH initiatives to honor creative volunteering efforts, and to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 by increasing the number of volunteers to one million.
