The Regional Laboratory and Blood Bank in Riyadh has won a new international recognition after meeting all accreditation standards of the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB).
In a statement, Riyadh Health Affairs said that the accreditation is granted to blood banks that comply with internationally recognized AABB standards in terms of quality management systems and operational processes.
According to the Affairs, the Regional Laboratory’s annual tests have exceeded 17 million tests. It provides its services to more than 500 healthcare facilities inside and outside MOH, and to 12 public and private universities on qualifying doctors and specialists to work in medical laboratories. It pointed out that the Riyadh-based Regional Laboratory and Blood Bank is keen on applying the international standards relevant to lab tests by securing advanced technologies that help to perform the tests in a minimum timeframe and in full precision and accuracy to reduce human errors and contribute to providing high-level diagnostic and therapeutic care.
