Over 26,000 Cases Served by Plastic Surgery and Burns Section at Al-Noor Hospital

​Plastic Surgery and Burns Section at Al-Noor Specialist Hospital in Makkah received 26,658 patients during the past three years. The Section’s average numbers of hypnosis patients, internal and emergency consulting cases, as well as surgeries reached 4,182, 14,439, and 3,792 respectively.   ​

In this regard, the Hospital’s Director has announced that not only was the Plastic Surgery and Burns Section one of the vital and distinct sections in the region, but also the largest burns section in the Kingdom. The Section provides a modern and advanced service for patients and outpatients. In addition, it is considered one of the distinguished training centers in Makkah for training Saudi Board doctors in plastic surgery and burns, etc. Currently, the Section is striving to complete the accreditation procedures of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties to start the Burn Fellowship for the first time in the Kingdom. 

It is worth mentioning that the Burns Section comprises 21 beds and serves all burn cases such as thermal, chemical, and electrical burns, radiation burns, as well as accident-associated friction burns of all surface and deep degrees. It also provides services to patients with skin diseases that cause loss of the surface skin layers over large areas of the body. 

In addition, burns, especially large severe ones, are dealt with in the Section. Moreover, the department receives cases of post-burn deformities, such as deformities of the scalp, face, limbs, and all other body parts. In such cases, the latest techniques are applied including tissue stretching, different skin alternatives, as well as all reparative and reconstructive surgeries.
