MOH: 2,171 New COVID-19 Cases Reported, Critical Cases Rise to 1,321

​According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), 2,171 new confirmed cases of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported in the Kingdom; thus bringing the total number to 91,182 cases, including 22,444 active cases, receiving the necessary medical care. Of these, there are 1,321 critical cases, while the health condition of the rest is stable. Also, 2,369 cases have been recovered, bringing the total recoveries to 68,159 cases, all praise is due to Allah.


“The new confirmed cases include 45% Saudi citizens and 55% non-Saudi residents. About 30% of the cases are females, and 70% are males. Only 4% of the reported cases are older persons, 12% are children, and 84% are adults,” MOH stated.

MOH added that these new cases were distributed as follows: 683 in Riyadh, 418 in Jeddah, 279 in Makkah, 167 in Madinah, 133 in Dammam, 85 in Taif, 70 in Qatif, 54 in Khobar, 31 in Hofuf, 26 in Jubail, 25 in Khamis Mushayt, 12 in Yanbu, 12 in Al-Moya, 12 in Sabya, 12 in Al-Muzahimiyah, 10 in Ras Tanura, 8 in Hail, 8 in Najran, 8 in Tabuk, 7 in Dhahran, 7 in Jazan, 6 in Bisha, 6 in Al-Lith, 5 in Al-Namas, 5 in Safwa, 4 in Al-Mahani, 4 in Baish, 4 in Sharurah, 4 in Al-Kharj, 4 in Wadi Al-Dawasir, 4 in Umluj, 3 in Al-Mubarraz, 3 in Al-Qunfudhah, 3 in Abha, 3 in Salwa, 3 in Hafr Al-Batin, 2 in Al-Jafr, 2 in Mayhill Asir, 2 in Al-Bashayer, 2 in Sabt Al-Alaya, 2 in Al-Nairiya, 2 in Abu Arish,  2 in Al-Aridha, 2 in Samatah, in addition to one case in each Al-Makhwah, Al-Mandaq, Al-Qara, Al-Hanakiyah, Namira, Dhulam, Maysan, Umm Al-Doom, Balsamer, Wadi Bin Hashbal, Abqaiq, Al-Darb, Al-Eidabi, Al-Dayer, Damad , Khulays, Habuna, Al-Owiqela, Diriyah, Afif, Al-Bejadyah, Dawadmi, Al-Rain, Al-Sulayyil, Huraymala, Ramah, and Ruwaida Al-Ardh. Moreover, 30 new deaths have been reported in Makkah; bringing the total deaths to 579.

Furthermore, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide has jumped to 6,404,872 cases, of which 2,747,830 cases have recovered to date. As for the COVID-19 death toll, it has jumped to 380,773.  

Regarding the lab tests in the Kingdom, new 16,976 lab tests have been conducted, bringing the total tests to date to 870,963. Besides, MOH has called all people to keen to frequently wash their hands with water and soap, as it is the major shield against coronavirus, and to wear medical or cloth face masks, or any mouth-nose covers, except those who are alone in a closed area.

MOH reiterated that anyone, who has symptoms or wants an assessment, can use the self-assessment service on «Mawid» app. Those, who have questions, can also inquire or seek advice by calling the 937-Service Center, available 24/7. The Center is now made closer to everyone than ever. The public can also benefit from its interactive services through WhatsApp app. on the number 920005937. They can have access to health information and updates on COVID-19. The service also provides users with information on blood donation and primary health care centers (PHCs). Besides, it enables them to reserve appointments.
