Riyadh Health Affairs Launches Blood Donation Initiative
23 April 2020

Riyadh Health Affairs, represented by the Regional Laboratory and Blood Bank, has launched an initiative dubbed “Donate at your home” in order to foster a culture of voluntary blood donation and maintain the health of all.

According to the Affairs, the initiative comes as part of the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the novel Coronavirus. If you want to give blood while at home, call WhatsApp number 0593291880 to book an appointment. A well-equipped team will visit donors at their homes. Also, call the toll number 19910 to make an appointment to give your blood at the blood bank. The appointment will be sent to you electronically, in collaboration with King Saud Medical City.
The initiative aims to allow everybody to give his blood without the need to go to hospitals or blood banks in line with the curfew and stay-at-home orders, adds the Affairs.

It underlined the importance of community engagement in boosting the blood unit stock to save lives, and urged everyone to give blood for the benefit of both the donor and recipient.
