MOH Provides Flu Vaccines at Homes

​​​For citizens' convenience, health and safety, the Ministry of Health (MOH) will start giving seasonal influenza vaccine to beneficiaries at their homes or wherever they are, in collaboration with "Careem" company, as of tomorrow (Wednesday) 7th to (Tuesday)13th, November 2018. 

According to MOH, the service (#vaccine_service) covers a number of the Kingdom's cities and provinces, including: Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Makkah, Qassim, Jazan, Hail, Tabuk, Madinah, Al-Jouf, Al-Ahsa, Asir, Khobar, Dhahran and Al-Qatif. MOH aims to cover the largest possible number of service seekers. 
The service could be requested via Careem App. for smart phones, by selecting immunization service. One of the serval specially-designated vehicles with health staff will visit the requester's home to vaccinate all family members against seasonal influenza, from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

MOH has inaugurated a national campaign against the seasonal influenza on October 14th, 2018. It has called on all community members to take the initiative to get influenza vaccine at primary health care centers, MOH's hospitals and shopping malls, pointing out that the flu vaccine reduces the flu infectiobs by more than 60% and the risk of hospitalization with influenza by 80%.  
It is noteworthy that the vaccine is given to prevent influenza and its complications. The vaccine is given at the onset of winter. The most vulnerable groups are: children under five, pregnant women, diabetics, and asthma, cardiac and liver patients. 

These activities come in a continuation of MOH's efforts to maintain the health and safety of all community members, to promote health awareness, to refute rumors and allegations about vaccines' safety and security, to raise the rate of coverage and to urge individuals to adopt healthy behaviors.
