Riyadh Governor and Health Minister Inaugurate Al Amal Complex for Mental Health and Maternity and Children Hospital in Kharj

His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Riyadh, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, the Minister of Health, has inaugurated Thursday Rajab 23rd, 1438H (corresponding to April 20th, 2017), Al-Amal Complex for Mental Health in Kharj Province. After cutting the ribbon, he lifted the curtain on the memorial plaque announcing the inauguration of the hospital, and then he watched a documentary film on the hospital's departments and services, its facilities and equipment for the sake of patients. The 200-bed hospital provides outpatient clinics, day health care and home medicine services.   
 
The hospital provides its services 24 hours a day, through emergency department which accommodates 14 patients for short stay and includes a special unit for intensive medical intervention. Inpatients can benefit from 8 specialized units with a capacity of 25 patients per a unit for treating different mental disorders and drug abuse separately, and it provides its services to both sexes through various treatment programs and teams by qualified specialists to contribute to improving the patient's condition in clinics operating 5 days a week. The complex also includes a day care center for mental cases and continuous care for recovering drug abusers who have a special unit to stay in at the beginning of their journey of getting rid of the abuse problems and addiction behaviors. After that the Governor toured the accompanying awareness exhibition held on this occasion and then he presented a memorial shield to the heirs of Sheikh Khalid bin Fayhan Al-Arjani who have donated the land on which the hospital was constructed. 
   
At the end of the ceremony Prince Faisal received a miniature of the complex presented to him by Dr. Al-Rabiah. Then he went to Kharj Maternity and Children Hospital where he cut the inaugural ribbon and listened to a detailed explanation about the 200-bed hospital's departments. The hospital's building includes outpatient clinics, radiology department equipped with the state-of-the-art equipment, in addition to departments of pharmacy, physiotherapy, laboratory and medical records.
 
The hospital's emergency department has been equipped with the latest equipment and at the highest international emergency standards, and it includes insolation rooms for infectious cases and 10 operating rooms.
 
Meanwhile, the Governor of Riyadh attended the signing of an agreement between Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University in Kharj and Kharj hospital and he congratulated them on the signing of the agreement. At the end of his visit he received a miniature of the hospital from Dr. Al-Rabiah.
