While launching the patient rights and responsibilities campaign under the theme: “We care for you,” which is organized by the Patient Rights and Relations General Department, His Excellency said that "what we all are concerned about is to provide services of high quality for the beneficiaries of MOH services, and to know to what extent they are satisfactory for the beneficiary." He stressed that MOH seeks to achieve patient's satisfaction. "To that end, it's very important for everyone to know his rights and responsibilities. It's no less important for us to know his opinion regarding the service provided for him at all the health facilities in scientific and objective manners, which contribute to the continuous improvement we are looking forward to," he elaborated.

Within the same vein, he said that the responsibilities of the treating medical team include explaining all treatment phases to the patient, and showing him the treatment plan, as well as letting him know the responsibilities entrusted to the medical and technical team in the health facilities.

On his part, the Supervisor General of the Patient Rights and Relations General Department, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdulmehsen Al-Dakhil, said that “thanks to Allah in the first place, and to the directives of the rulers - May Allah bless them - as well as the close follow up of His Excellency the Minister of Health, full attention has been paid to the patients’ concerns and solving all his problems.” He added that the awareness campaign launched by MOH's Patient Rights and Relations General Department, under the theme: “We care for you,” aims at promoting the culture of patient rights and responsibilities among all community members in an easy and accessible manner through a number of TV and Radio channels, newspapers and publications in an integrated and harmonious way. The campaign will cover also social media, in addition to distributing a number of   brochures, CDs, advertising banners, advertising boards and booklets as informational messages to all health facilities in the Kingdom including hospitals, primary healthcare centers and public places to introduce patient rights and responsibilities to all community members.

He added in an address delivered while launching the campaign, "Our concern for patient's satisfaction is not limited only to a campaign or a short period of time. Rather, it’s a hard work and continuous effort which Allah honored us to undertake, and we will make every effort to carry it to perfection."
