Ministry of Health Selected to Be a WHO Authorized Center in the Field of Mass Gathering Medicine

   The World Health Organization (WHO) has endorsed the Ministry of Health (MOH) to be a WHO Authorized Center in the field of Mass Gathering Medicine. The MOH Undersecretary of Public Health, Dr. Ziad Memish, has been selected to take on the supervision of the center for four years. As this WHO Collaborating Center will be among an international collaborative network that includes activities for supporting WHO’s programs.
 
Dr. Memish expressed his pleasure with this selection. He pointed out that the Kingdom is a pioneer in the field of Mass Gathering Medicine, that's to be added to its distinguished experiences in this field which are commended by many international organizations and institutions. He indicated that there is a one-year ScientificTraining Program for Saudi Diploma in Mass Gathering and Disaster Medicine which is certified from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. Besides, it is one of the recommendations of the Mass Gathering Medicine Conference which was organized by the Ministry of Health before two years under the gracious patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, May Allah protect him.
