WHO Lauds the Transparency Embraced by the Saudi MOH in its Preventive Procedures
27 October 2012
Dr. Jawad Mahjour, the WHO Director of Infectious and Epidemic Disease, has praised the transparency pursued by the Saudi Ministry of Health in its preventive procedures, with reference to the standard rates of immunization accomplished by the Ministry, which amounted to 98%.

Dr. Mahjour stressed that Ministry of Health has become more dependent on scientific methods, and is showing greater cooperation with the WHO, on a periodic and regular basis. He said, “We appreciate and value the experiences gained by Ministry of Health in addressing and managing agglomerations. It has been accredited by WHO as a collaborated and accredited center in the region.” He added, “We are working together with the Ministry of Health to develop health requirements and publish them on the WHO site, as well as informing all member states of such requirements.”

Dr. Mahjour pointed out that the WHO's role at pilgrimage was advisory, and that they collaborate with the Kingdom for years, and the collaboration has even grown greater over the past three years, especially with regard to preventive medicine.
