Dr. Shodri Urges Governmental and Private Sectors to Join the National Accreditation Program

Dr. Seif Bin Ibrahim Shodri, Manager of Total Quality Management at King Saud Medical City, is calling upon all governmental and private sector health institutions to join the National Accreditation Program and to establish quality control programs to upgrade the level health services in the Kingdom.  The goals of the program are based on directives from government and Ministry leaders to provide the best possible healthcare to the public.  He delivered his comments at a recent Health Services seminar organized by the Institute of Public Health and opened by HE the Minister of Health. 

While discussing a report presented at the seminar and entitled “Quality Standards and Their Impact on Enhancing Health Services,” Dr. Shodri stressed the importance of upgrading current National Accreditation Program laws and regulations.  He also emphasized the need to implement all MOH directives and regulations.    
 
Dr. Shodri emphasized that the National Accreditation Organization must be independent of other government bodies. He also stressed the importance of including private sector healthcare facilities and private health insurance companies under the umbrella of the NAO’s authority.  Proper business practices between various health care providers and purchasers must be defined, and suitable sources of funding and providing healthcare services by health insurance companies.
