The King Agree on (King Saud Medical City) Name

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, issued directives of approval to change the name of King Saud Medical Complex to (King Saud Medical City) in Riyadh. This was announced by The Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz AL Rabeeah.The king read the Minister's letter about the developmental stages of King Saud Medical Complex in the last period. The Ministry implemented a strategic plan for developing and replacing old buildings with new ones with international standards.
 
This will include a capacity of (1.400) beds, including internal medicine tower , academic tower that includes a 500-person lecture hall , medical library in addition to a medical training center, which was opened by the Governor of Riyadh, Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz on Monday 28/1/1429. In addition, there are the maternity and children tower, surgical tower and outpatient clinics that are currently under construction.
 
Dr. AL Rabeeah, added that this development is accompanied by a similar development in the medical services level represented in establishing more precision specializations. King Fahad Kidney Center will also be developed into an independent comprehensive tower that includes all support services, as well as the dental medical center to become the biggest dental medical center in the region with a capacity that reaches 200 Dental Clinics .
 
Moreover, King Saud Medical Complex was called (King Saud the First Hospital), then (Riyadh Central Hospital), then (Riyadh Medical Complex).It was opened on Sunday, 8/4/ 1376 in King Saud bin Abdul Aziz's era. It included departments of general surgery, internal medicine, maternity and children with a capacity of 150 beds.
 
In the year of 1413, Women Hospital has been separated from Children Hospital as well as the General Hospital, so that each of them will be a separated hospital; all under the name of the Riyadh Medical Complex.
 
On this occasion, Dr. AL Rabeeah thanked his highness for his noble gesture, praising the generous support dedicated to the health sector. He confirmed that this city will contribute in providing specialized health services for the Kingdom's people.
