On Saturday Feb 12, 2009, during a routine check on MOH payroll account, the auditors discovered a deficit of SR1,199,769.
After checking all transactions related to money transfer in Muharram 1430H, the auditors tracked the missing amount to the account of an employee at the entitlement's section.
Upon scrutinizing the way whereby the employee has managed to transfer the amount to his account, it has been revealed that the employee has stolen the secret code for entering the pay account from a colleague and then transferred the money to his own account in two installments.
The employee has been sacked from his position and an investigation is underway.
