Al-Mane opens second workshop on improving quality of health

The Minister of Health and President of the Executive Bureau of the Arab Health Ministers Dr. Hamad Al-Mane shall open on Monday the Second Workshop of the experts team assigned for executing the Arab Project for Improving the Quality of Health Facilities, which will be held at Mariot Hotel in Jeddah during the period from 14 to 17/08/1428.
 
The Director General of the Executive Bureau of the GCC Council of Health Ministers and Head of the Committee for Accrediting Health Facilities Dr. Tawfeeq Ahmed Khoja said the workshop is convened in cooperation between the Saudi Ministry of Health, the Executive Bureau of the GCC Council of Health Ministers, and the Arab League (The Council of the Arab Health Ministers). A number of issues shall be discussed in the workshop, including the Saudi experiment of accrediting, the problems and obstacles involved, as well as the experiment of the Central Council of Accrediting. The program schedule also includes papers on realized achievements, work status regarding the Arab Project for Improving the Quality of Health Facilities, and accomplishment of works on two accrediting tools, namely the Standard Elements and the Dictionary of Arabic Terms. Some pioneering Arabic practices in the field of accrediting shall also be reviewed, in addition to reviewing the Auditors Guide, the Training Program for Auditors, and the draft law of the Arabic Accrediting Organization. Other topics on schedule include the Arabic standards of the reference centers for accrediting health facilities and the general concept of the final report to be submitted to the Council of Arab Health Ministers.
 
Dr. Khoja appreciated the support and sponsorship offered by the Minister of Health Dr. Hamad Al-Mane, hoping the workshop will yield recommendations that meet the ambitions of the Arab Ministers of Health.
