Overview:
It is a genetic disorder of blood cells, characterized by a lower than normal level of hemoglobin and red blood cells. World Thalassemia Day aims to commemorate thalassemia patients who died from the disease, and to encourage those who are still alive.
Objectives:
- Educating thalassemia patients to follow the treatment plan correctly to avoid complications
- Raising awareness about the importance of consulting a doctor before marriage.
- Enhancing community knowledge about the importance of immunizations for the health of children and society.
Facts:
- Thalassemia may cause anemia, making affected people feel exhausted and tired
- More severe cases of thalassemia require regular blood transfusions
- Steps can be taken to live with the symptoms of thalassemia, such as fatigue and exhaustion, by choosing a healthy diet and exercising regularly.
