Facts:
- Asthma triggers vary from person to person and can include: allergens in the air, such as pollen, dust mites, mold spores, or pet dander, respiratory infections such as the common cold, physical activity, cold air, air pollutants and irritants, like smoke.
- The risk of developing asthma increases if other members of the family also have asthma; Especially a close relative, such as a parent or sibling.
- The risk of developing asthma increases in people who suffer from other allergic conditions, such as eczema and rhinitis (hay fever).
