Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Awareness Month is April, to raise awareness about the disease and ways to deal with it.
5% to 10% in the world suffer from irritable bowel syndrome. There are many people who are not aware that they have the disease and are not diagnosed with it due to ignorance of its symptoms.

Facts:
- Irritable bowel syndrome is a disease that causes recurrent attacks of abdominal pain and discomfort such as diarrhea and constipation.
- Irritable bowel syndrome can appear unexpectedly and change over time.
- 2 out of 3 irritable bowel syndrome patients are female.
- 20-40% of all visits to the gastroenterology department are due to irritable bowel syndrome.
