The Minister of Health Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al-Rabeeah has confirmed that the status of dengue fever is under control. He said the bodies assigned for controlling dengue fever are following their duty consistently.
"As per the guidelines of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, we made contacts with concerned bodies in order get updates about the latest developments of the disease", he said during a meeting at his office with the Secretary of the Sacred Capital Dr. Osama Al-Bar. The meeting reviewed situation in the Sacred Capital and the efforts exerted for combating the disease. An agreement has been made for establishing a joint committee at the Sacred Capital Secretariat under the chairmanship of the Secretary of the Sacred Capital and members from MOH, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Education, and Meteorology Dept, for following up the execution of prevention programs and coordinating efforts for controlling the disease. The Minister of Health urged all relative bodies to exert utmost efforts for getting rid of the disease within the shortest possible time.
The Minister of Health had already made meetings with the Minister of Agriculture and Secretary of Jeddah District. Moreover, MOH has prepared radio and TV awareness messages in coordination with the Ministry of Information.
