Male and female students go through different physical and psychological changes during adolescence until they reach adulthood and full maturity.

The most prominent changes witnessed by males:
  • Bone and muscle growth and broadening of the shoulders.
  • Increased secretion of sweat glands and sebaceous glands.
  • The appearance of acne.
  • Hair growth under the armpits, in the pubic area, on the chest and face.
  • Increase in height and weight.
  • Hoarseness of voice and protrusion of the larynx.
  • ​Enlargement of the penis and testicles and the secretion of sperm.
  • Erection: blood flow to the penis, causing it to swell and increase its length.
  • Wet dreams or somnambulism. It often occurs while sleeping.
The most prominent changes in females:
  • Increase in height and weight.
  • The growth of the pelvic bones and the rotation of the hips.
  • Start of menstruation.
  • Breast growth.
  • The appearance of acne.
  • Increased secretion of sweat.
  • he beginning of vaginal secretions with a white, transparent, or yellow liquid without an unpleasant odor or itching.
  • The menstrual cycle, menstruation, or menstruation is evidence that the body is healthy and normal, and it is the process of blood secretion from the uterus to the outside of the body through the opening of the vagina. There is a difference in the number of days of the menstrual cycle from one girl to another, and there is a difference in the length of the menstrual cycle for the same girl from one cycle to another, and the menstrual cycle is irregular at the beginning for some girls and this is normal and there is no need for concern, as the girl’s body usually needs about two years to regularize the cycle .
​Psychological changes of male and female students in adulthood:
    • Self-affirmation: The student imagines that he has complete freedom in his actions.
    • Fear of unattractiveness and focus on body image: interest in shape and appearance to draw others' attention to it.
    • Sensitivity: vulnerability, nervousness, instability, and anxiety.
    • Love of experiment and exploration: which usually leads them to smoking and drug use.
    • Rebellion, outbursts of anger and protest: the desire to quarrel, protest, criticize and argue, which leads to a feeling of incomprehension of others.
    • Shyness: a feeling resulting from the fear of blaming others, lack of self-confidence, and fear of ridicule.
    • All previous changes are normal, and their severity may vary from one person to another. Therefore, it is important to understand the student and resort to a family member to communicate with him / her and discuss matters of concern to him / her.
General instructions for male and female students in adulthood:
  • The delivery of information must be gradual according to the age of the student and what you want to know.
  • Ensure proper nutrition and drink water.
  • Male and female students at this stage should be directed to practice sports and social activities that fill their time and distract them from thinking about the changes they feel.
  • Make sure to shower daily and use deodorant.
  • Make sure to wash your hair and keep it clean.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the genitals by cleaning them after each use of the toilet.
  • Make sure to shave excess hair in the sensitive area and under the armpits.
  • Wash your face with a medicated lotion regularly to prevent the proliferation of fats and the appearance of acne.
  • Students should be directed about masturbation because of its negative impact on the boy from a physical point of view.
