AL-Qassim Health Affairs has announced inauguration of a reference laboratory for the public health sector in Buraidah. The laboratory is enhanced with specialized medical equipment to perform laboratory tests for the healthcare centers' outpatients.
The Affairs added that the inauguration of the laboratory aims to unify efforts and comes as part of the developmental steps to improve the laboratory services at the healthcare centers, as well as to reduce the burden on the region's hospitals and to service the outpatients without the need to perform the laboratory tests at hospitals.
According to the Affairs, in the first stage the reference laboratory will perform comprehensive chemical tests for the healthcare centers' patients with chronic diseases, and in the second stage will receive hormone tests performed by consultants at the healthcare centers, and in the last stage it will receive the serological tests.
