MOH Launches the 6th Edition of the National Patient Safety Award

The Minister of Health, Fahd bin Abdul Rahman Al-Jalajel, sponsored the launching of the Saudi Patient Safety Center’s annual national award in its 6th edition in Riyadh, in the presence of 250 dignitaries and 120 teams representing the winning projects. The award aims to recognize the successful innovations in the field of patient safety and to highlight the best practices to be used as role models in health facilities. This comes as part of the Ministry of Health efforts which focus on facilitating access to health services, developing them, and meeting the goals of the health sector transformation program to reach a vibrant society and a comprehensive, effective, and integrated health system, based on the health of the individual and society, and in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
The award aims to promote local and international efforts in achieving patient safety through improving the level of health care which contributes to enhancing patient safety and the organizational culture to achieve safe health care.
In its sixth edition, the National Patient Safety Award witnessed the participation of more than 600 applicants with qualitative projects in multiple tracks aimed at enhancing patient safety through a group of innovations that contribute to making a positive impact on the quality and efficiency of healthcare in the Kingdom.
It is noteworthy that the award received broad participation from the health sector system in the Kingdom and its staff, local researchers, and academics, in addition to representatives of the international community, G20 countries, international healthcare providers, and experts.
