Kingdom Chairs International Meeting on Wise Healthcare Promotion

​​Under the patronage of the Health Minister, Dr. Twafiq Al-Rabiah, the Wise Healthcare Promotion Center held today (Tuesday) a joint meeting with the World Economic Forum. The meeting was attended by the G20 Health Ministers, with the participation of CEOs of major global health companies, and representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).​

The meeting comes in continuation of the discussion to transform the health systems toward high efficiency and quality health systems (wise health systems), and in parallel with the establishment of the International Center for Innovation in this field.

The meeting discussed the importance of cooperation between the public and private sectors to stimulate transformation toward health systems based on quality and efficiency, and underlined the importance of innovation and speeding up solution implementation, as well as reviewing examples of cooperation between the two sectors. 

A number of dignitaries spoke to the meeting, including the Health Ministers of Singapore, Indonesia, India, Assistant Health Minister of Japan, as well as President of the Gavi Vaccine Alliance, the International Health and Nutrition Leader at the World Bank, and the Assistant President of WHO for International Businesses. The participants lauded the efforts by the Kingdom and its leadership at the international level.

Noteworthy, the international event is the first of its kind for dialogue and exchange of expertise in order to achieve cooperation in the field of wise healthcare, to learn from Kingdom intellectuals, to review challenges and opportunities and to agree on procedures to facilitate transformation toward quality and efficiency in the healthcare systems.
