Al-Amal Complex for Mental Health-Tabuk has obtained the accreditation of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) as a training center for a two-year psychiatry program. After the end of the training period, the trainee receives a Saudi Specialty Certificate of Psychiatry (Saudi Board of Psychiatry); which will increase the number of physician specialists in the region and improve the quality of medical services provided to patients.
This accreditation marks the culmination of the colossal efforts exerted by the complex, in terms of boosting psychiatry programs, supporting scientific programs aimed at raising the level of physicians' professional skills, and utilizing the outputs of these programs to develop the medical staff.
It is worth mentioning that the Al-Amal Complex for Mental Health-Tabuk (with a 200-bed capacity) provides integrated medical services in a wide range of medical specialties, including psychiatric (or mental) disorders, addictions, electroencephalogram (EEG), internal medicine, dentistry, developmental and behavioral disorders in children, in addition to electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). It is noted that the complex annually serves about 40,000 beneficiaries.
