27 October 2012
A number of the scouts, participating in the Hajj season this year, expressed their joy and pleasure that they were chosen to serve the pilgrims, pointing out that they took training courses on the first aids and dealing with the pilgrims during emergency such as fires and others.

Within the same context, 366 scouts, from all over the Kingdom's regions, participate this year in providing the supportive services related to dealing with the pilgrim patients in the health facilities of the Ministry of Health (MOH) in Makkah, the Holy Sites, and Madinah.

In spite of their young age, they provide good supportive services for the pilgrims frequenting these health facilities; to the effect that they organize their files before the clinics, guide them to the pharmacies, and help the lost to their residence. In addition, these scouts are distinguished with good treatment with regard to the pilgrims; in so doing they depict a bright image for the Saudi scout, and their dedication to serving the pilgrims.

During a meeting with a number of these scouts, tasked with working at Mina Emergency Hospital, and participating in the Hajj voluntary work for the first time, Abdul-Rahman Ghasham Al-Ghasham (scouting sergeant) said that this is his first participation in the Hajj, and working at this hospital has not been upon his request, but this was the desire of his superiors. He also referred that he only expected that his place of participation would be at the physicians' residence or those working in the health field, expressing his feelings that what he does is an important work, as it is in the service of pilgrims.

As for Rayan Mohammed Al-Mehemed, he considers himself lucky working at a hospital, as he aspires after finishing the secondary school to join the Faculty of Medicine in order to become a physician on the respiratory diseases. He also referred that such work stands him a good chance of having a direct, close look on the work environment at a hospital, the nature of the medical functions, and how to deal with the pilgrim patients.

One more scout, named Turky A'ad Al-Rashidi, referred that his superiors' choice for him and the scouting group to which he belongs, for voluntary work in the Hajj health site came upon what they tangibly felt in the group of good manners. He also pointed out that he and his comrades along were trained on the first aids and good dealing with others. In addition, he referred that he had taken previous courses on how to tackle fire outbreaks, expressing his overwhelming joy for his participating in serving the pilgrims, seeking Allah's, the Almighty, consent.
