WHO praises Kingdom contribution to Polio Eradication Project

The World Health Organization has approved the National Lab for Poliomyelitis (NLP) for another period of one year starting from April 2007 and ending in March 2008. The approval has been based on the comprehensive checkups made by the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Coordinator for Poliomyelitis Dr. Homayon Asghar.
 
Dr. Asghar praised the achievements realized by NLP and its high quality performance during the past period for which it has scored maximum degrees.
 
On his part, the Director of the WHO Regional Office for Eastern Mediterranean Dr. Husain Al-Jazairi also praised the contributions of the Kingdom towards the International Initiative for Eradicating Polio, denoting that the high quality performance shown by NLP during the last year has enabled it to score optimum degrees in the evaluations made by WHO.
