Assistant Agency for Planning and Research

Assistant Deputy’s Message
The Ministry of Health is dedicated to providing comprehensive, integrated, preventive, curative and rehabilitative healthcare according to Islamic principles and professional global healthcare ethics. We accomplish this by raising public health awareness and by improving the quality and performance of the healthcare services we distribute to all regions of the Kingdom.

One of the Ministry’s main concerns is to ensure that scientifically-based research and planning methods are utilized at all times. Health service coverage is determined according to specific criteria, and priorities are set in line with available human and financial resources and patient needs. The Assistant Agency for Planning and Research conducts studies related to healthcare policies and strategies, and analyzes current situations, actual needs and major healthcare challenges in all regions of the Kingdom. In addition, the Assistant Agency also collects and analyzes healthcare data to be used in the preparation of five-year development plans.  These plans aim to meet the requirements for future expansion in health services, in coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Planning.

Moreover, the Assistant Agency for Planning and Research also follows upon the implementation of all of the development plans’ programs and projects according to the timetable set out for financial allocations from the Ministry’s budget. Our primary goals are to meet the public's health service needs and to improve regional healthcare coverage based upon increased population growth, thereby providing comprehensive and integrated healthcare for all citizens of the Kingdom, if Allah wills.
